    Precautions before cleaning your house:

Not that home cleaning is dangerous but before you start cleaning up these walls of your lovely home, be sure to take some precautions to prevent any potential little problems. You must remove all pictures, frames, mirrors and other decorative items from the walls. You don’t want a pretty framed picture of your young one to fall down and shatter, do you? Move all the stuff like chairs and tables away from the walls so you don’t have to clean these things too afterward.

Protecting your stuff is important, but protecting yourself is even more important. Be sure to wear safety gloves to protect your hands from drying out. It’s also important to wear a mask so your nose or mouth doesn’t get exposed to dust. Before cleaning up the ceilings, be sure to put on safety glasses so water drops or dust doesn’t get into your eyes.

2. Cleaning dust off your house walls:

Before you wash the walls or ceilings with any kind of liquid, it’s very important to dust them. You can use brushes with soft bristles to dust the walls. If the bristles of your brush are stiff enough to rub off the paint, you can wrap an old t-shirt on the bristles and then use it. If you don’t have access to any kind of brush, you can use your Grandma’s broom for dusting. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the excess dust. Place it on the wall and move it vertically.

Don’t forget the ceilings! Some dust particles might be sticking with your ceiling and you must clean them as well remember, home cleaning includes much more than kitchen and rooms, it includes those parts considered the “details”

3. Using warm water for cleaning:

This is the old trick of home cleaning, using warm water, One of the easiest ways to clean up your walls and ceilings is to use warm water to rub off stains. To wash house walls, a soft sponge dipped in warm water is your best friend. However, you can also use a soft brush or just a clean cloth for this purpose.

Most glossy and semi-gloss paints are not usually damaged by water so you don’t need to worry about rubbing off the paint.

4. Making a wall cleaning solution at home:

Just like cooking tricks there are also home cleaning tricks, this is one of them: homemade wall cleaning solutions, they do a great job at cleaning painted walls and ceilings. To make one such solution, take 1 cup of borax and 2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid. Mix both the substances in 1 gallon of water and your homemade wall cleaning soap is ready. It’s easy to find borax in the cleaning-products aisle at the supermarket. You can also use ammonia in place of borax to make your homemade soap. Take 1 cup of ammonia, 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid, 1 gallon of water. Mix the ammonia and dishwashing liquid in the water and use it to wash the walls.

5. Testing the walls before washing them to avoid ruining the paint:

It should be safe to wash all types of paint including glossy and semi gloss paints, which are commonly used in rooms like kitchens and bathrooms as well. However, before washing walls, you must test to see if rubbing the walls with what you are using to clean them, damages the paint or not. Use an unimportant and barely visible section of the wall for this test. You can find this kind of section behind the couches, TV or anything else covering up a section of the wall. If washing these sections doesn’t damage the paint, you can relax. Go ahead and clean up the walls with no worries.

However, if washing these test sections does damage the paint, try applying less force for rubbing the walls. You can also try to stop using your soap to wash the walls and see if using only water fixes the issue.
